URBAN MYTHS: ALICIA DE LA TORRE

Alicia de la Torre comes to us from Bogotá, Colombia.  She received her undergraduate degree from Taller 5, Bogotá, Colombia in graphic design.  Studied painting at the Academia de David Manzur from 1982-1985.  In 1988 she studied Escenography, Animation, Movie making in 1989-1990 in Bogotá, Colombia... Alicia then focused on Pottery in 1993-1995 at El Bosque University in Bogotá, Colombia.  From there she studied Art History at Athena’s Institute in 1998 in Bogotá, Colombia.   Coinciding in 1998, she attended El Bosque University to intensify in engraving, sculpture and stain glass.

A question to a master...
his answer, The carnal stadium is when you see trees like trees, and mountains
like mountains. The spiritual state its when you can't see the trees and the
mountains in a real way. The divine state is when you see the trees an the
mountains how they are. These words define the spiritual state from Alicia de
la Torre painting Know.
Passing trough the impressionism and the expressionist abstract, with a huge
different colors and texture, she brings us over to some fantastic world where
only her imagination cut be.
Alicia thoughts becomes from her deep like a basic element showing us
different visions from the daily landscape with a unique charm and personal
style. Her work has influenced from masters like "Sisley, Monet and
Pissarro".  Who remained us the European races; Let us be posses by the magic
 color and brightness of her painting, and lets enjoy her fantasy .
